One of the most common questions at our hair extension salon in Marbella is: how many grams of hair do I actually need?
The answer may surprise you: there is no universal amount that works for everyone.
When selecting the amount of hair for extensions, our goal is to achieve the perfect balance. We need enough hair to create a seamless and invisible transition between your natural hair and the extensions, while avoiding unnecessary weight on your natural strands.
This balance helps create a natural-looking result and supports healthy hair growth during the extension wear period.
The thicker your natural hair and the denser your haircut line, the more donor hair will be required for a natural blend.
For this reason, 100 grams is often not enough for naturally thick hair. The difference between the natural hair and the extensions may remain visible.
If your hair is fine or fragile, we usually recommend:
• 50 grams for extra density and fullness while keeping the same length.
• 100 grams for moderate lengthening without excessive weight.
Every client is unique. The ideal amount depends on the density, length, thickness, and overall condition of the natural hair.
At our Marbella hair extension salon, we perform a personalized assessment to calculate not only the correct amount of hair, but also the appropriate strand weight and micro bond size for each client.
Well-designed hair extensions should look natural, feel comfortable, and allow your natural hair to continue growing in a healthy way.
If you are considering hair extensions in Marbella and are unsure how many grams you need, we will be happy to help with a personalized consultation.
